| Here sat the one and only Eustace Vainglory, his bare, skinny ankles dangling into the roadside gutter, tapping away at a tiny dual-screened handheld. He was alone, so it seemed; not hide nor hair of his father, nor his mother, nor his sister. He leaned with the pixellated cars, and furiously furrowed his freckled brow at every missed opportunity to nail his computerized opponent with any unoccupied tortoise shell he may have picked up along the drive. It was a surprise that he hadn't been stepped on. | |

| Anthony slowly approached the boy, moving behind with trepidation. He had no idea if Brian was behind him or not, and if he wasn't well, it was his loss.
He had a look on his face that was similar to a group of Native Americans, who were completely fascinated by how the white settlers were living. Or something a keen to that.
And right now, those game-y things were fascinating him. He had played that Gameboy thing Jennifer had before, yes. But this was something of an entire new league. It was sleek, white, and shiny. It had two screens, and lots of buttons. And, the pictures on there were moving all over the place, and they were bright and primary.
It was too much to resist. Before long, Anthony had appeared beside this boy, peering over his shoulder.

| Alas, Eustace was so deeply absorbed into his little game that he didn't notice this fresh face creeping up behind him. | |

| For a few minutes, Anthony just stayed there, crouched beside him, watching the game go on. From what he made out, it was basically about very strange people racing around in mini car things, and throwing dangerous projectiles like shells and banana peels and squids at each other. It all didn't seem very nice, in his opinion.
But, this being a 3DS, when one of the 3D effects suddenly popped out, Anthony fell backwards with a yelp.
"That thing almost exploded!" he yelled, pointing at the game machine.

| Eustace started slightly, nearly dropping his handheld right into that gutter. He cowered up at Anthony with the face of a frightened kitten. | |

| "Oh... I'm sorry..." he apologized, looking at him shyly. "Is that... game thing okay?" | |
