Charms (N.E.W.T)

A period of N.E.W.T Charms was currently in session, and they were quite busy. Right now, they were practicing on the Memory Erasing charm. No, not on each other, but on some nice little dogs that the professor had.

And so Sophia, was sitting on top of her desk, muttering '[i]obliveate[i]' under her breath, and the dog forgot about what happened five minutes.

"Took you long enough..." Kyle muttered, grinning harshly. He had practiced the spell before on several other people, and so it was easy enough on the dog. Even if the ones on people weren't ever supposed to happen... And they didn't since he was the only one who knew!

Sophia turned to glare at Kyle. She despised that boy, and she didn't understand how Hugh can tolerate him. He was so annoying.

"Careful Kyle. We don't want that head of yours to get so bed it falls off your shoulders." she said coolly.

The funny thing is, Hugh thought the same about Sophia.

"If one's head could get so big that it would do so, your's already would have." He replied with a similarly cool tone.

If looks could kill, Kyle would have been long dead on accountant of the angry look Sophia flashed at him.

"That's bull. Mine is only good fun, you're completely serious! There's a reason why everyone hates you, besides Hugh." she argued back.

Kyle laughed bitterly, "Most people don't get to see this side. But you can go on believing what you wish if it helps with whatever goes on in your mind." He shrugged, then added on, "If anything."

Hugh had chosen, rather wisely, to sit on the opposite end of the room. Though he could still hear their argument as clear as a bell, he wasn't too upset by their speaking for him and all. Whatta doormat. "Obliviate."

"Well... whatever." Sophia turned around bitterly, deciding to use a classic girl trick: ignore the guy. And she went back to practice her spell, like a good student.

Kyle smugly smiled, leaning back on his chair, using the back of hers as a footrest. It was just too tempting to bother her!

Oh, now that was just plain mean. Sophia turned around, but she didn't speak to him. Instead, she stretched out her own feet (Don't worry, she had on black tights underneath her school skirt today) and rested them on top of his shoulders.

Kyle cringed, but simply ducked a bit, and then let the feet drop. Brushing off his shoulders, he looked back at her, "That all you got?"

"No, I have more." And after a moment of concentration and effort, Sophia managed to stretch her feet up far enough, so that they manged to rest on top of the boys head.

It was then that the oft-felt urge rose in Hugh's mind to, instead, be in Kyle's place, to have his lack of inhibitions, and his way of making Sophia put herself into such impressive positions.

Hugh glared at her-or more so her legs. "That's awfully classy." He said sarcastically. "But do you honestly think that's the appropriate way to act any besides the farm?"

"Hey!" Sophia's legs immediately dropped down, and she tucked them under her desk, unintentionally ruining Hugh's fantasy. She whipped out her wand, and pointed it straight at Kyle's nose.

"Don't mock the farm. Heidi the goat could be you at a game of Scrabble, you're that dumb."

Kyle went cross eyed to look at the wand for a moment, then looked back straight at her, masking any fear he had of what he would become if the other end of the wand decided to perform a spell.

"It's good thing 'Heidi the goat' can now suddenly read English. And add. Did you learn that animals can do that sort of thing from your mummy?"

"You missed the joke. Heidi CAN'T read in English or add for that matter, but she can still be you at a game of Scrabble, you're that dumb! And see-you missing the point of what I said just proved your stupidity." Sophia snapped,, still pointing her wand at Kyle.

Kyle half smiled as she spoke. "Not missing the point, just simply point the flaws. Realize if you do anything to me with your little stick of a wand that you'll be in more trouble than you can imagine?"

Sophia lowered her wand, but she kept glaring at him.

"I think you're bluffing."

Kyle began to raise his hand.

"Would I really bluff?"

"Of course. You're bluffing right now. Eyes are the window to the soul, and YOUR soul is terrified."

"That sounds much less like real wizardry and more like a boardwalk side show."

"...What? You've never heard of that saying that the eyes are the windows-never mind forget that." Sophia shook her head. "But I swear Kyle whatever your last name is, I'll get back at you..."

"Enjoy that, Miss Sawyer." Kyle then turned his attention to the professor, who was giving new instructions.

"I will. I KNOW WHERE YOU LIVE!" she shouted loudly, before giving her full attention to the poor professor. Of course, she didn't REALLY know where he lived, but she wanted to sound threateningly.
