Matthew plopped in, and already looked disappointed. He hadn't seen Phil or Emily yet! What a wretched way to start the year, he thought as he kicked he feet up on the booth. Emily and him hadn't talked much since their library encounters, even when his mom had them babysat by Mrs. Sawyer. All he could do now was pray that he placed his cards in the right place by finding a compartment early.
