Perum woke that morning, and sat up in her bed. She punched her alarm and it fell off her bedside table. She pulled herself up from her bed, and stretched, her white shirt revealing her belly button. She then cracked her knuckles, and neck, and then rolled her ankles. She changed into her uniform: A blue dress, with a black long vest over it that was tight around the belt, making the skirt poof out a bit. She pulled on long black socks, then her black platform shoes making her even taller than she began with, and pulled on rainbow leg warmers.

She brushed her hair and put in a bobby pin to push aside some of the longer pieces of her hair, and she pulled over her long black overcoat which came with the uniform, and buttoned it, and it hid the dress, poofing out with it also.

Morning. Time for school. Uuuunnnnghhhhh. Shut the hell up, alarm. Can't you see I'm trying to sleep?

Sigh.

Nashi slapped her alarm clock, turned over, and fell back asleep for a good fifteen minutes. Awoken by her own subconscious nagging at her, Nashi sprung out of bed and began her daily ritual. The initial high of waking up wore off in no time flat, making her a bit dizzy. Half-asleep, she staggered over to her closet and pulled out her school uniform. It was so... uniform-y. She went into the bathroom, washed her face. Went back to her room, put on her uniform. Went downstairs, fixed up a sloppy lunch and then proceeded to put some bread in the toaster.

"Brush your hair, Nashi."

"What are you, my mom?"

"No. I'm your sister, and you're a reflection upon me at school. If you look bad, I'll look bad. It reflects on our family. So go brush your hair."

"Why are you so uptight about it?"

"Because you never seem to get it."

Nashi went upstairs and brushed her hair. When she came back down, she found her toast buttered with some bacon sitting on a plate next to it. "How is it that you're so awesome but so annoying at the same time?"

Nashi's sister smirked, and left. "I'll see you around. Bye."

"Bye."

Nashi left the house a few minutes later, after brushing her teeth and such. Taking her shoddy bento with her, she went to go see Perum. Unlike her best friend, Nashi put a nice little spin on her uniform. Her overcoat was unbuttoned and she wore her black-and-white checkered sneakers instead of the shiny dress shoes.

Kit was indeed a special person, someone who was unique and will benefit the world.

Or so she thought in her rather egotistical mindset. In reality, she was your typical fourteen year old girl. She complained and cried a lot, got into a lot of trouble, and she liked cute things and shopping. Still, she was under the firm belief that the world was better off because of her existence.

She was walking to school that morning as usual, with her head held high. Her long brown hair was pulled back with a little orange flowered hair clip, with her navy sailor cap placed at a certain angle. The white tie of her matching navy sailor moon was tied in a neat fashion, with her chest out, to show off her curves as much as possible (really, she was nothing more than an A) Her gray eyes flashed at the world around, and she had a small smile on her face. She was taking time to drink into her surroundings.

The fresh spring leaves, the birds singing, the little children in their school uniforms... still, it was all a really nice day.

Keiko awoke with a start, shaking and sweating. She sweared under her breath-it was the dream again. She slowed sat up, and shut off her alarm. She hated waking up before it, even if it was just by a minute. Rubbing her temples, she swung her legs, and began to get ready for the day.

Already dressed she couldn't help but stop at the mirror before leaving. It was a habit to check that she hadn't forgotten anything-or added any pounds when she woke up. She examined herself, and scrunched her nose. Something was off-oh! Keiko had forgotten her headband! Placing the black headband with the utmost of care, Keiko made one last glance at the mirror before heading out. God forbid she had any cat fur on her uniform!

Keiko jogged quietly behind Kit until she finally caught up with her friend. She filled out her sailor uniform a little more in the front, but she treaded rather carefully on that subject. Keiko's victorious smile she had when she left home was nothing more than a ghost now. "Hey, you."

Perum waited outside, hugging her arms. It was a really cold morning. She kicked some dirt in her front yard off the sidewalk, and looked around for Nashi. She eyed the tall black-haired boy who walked by daily to wherever he worked. Well, he wasn't exactly a boy, considering he graduated from her school the year before.

Kit turned around, and grinned brightly at Keiko. "Hey! How are you? Did you know we have a test in Home Economics today? Are you?-" But Kit suddenly turned around, a small smirk curled around her lips at a certain girl who attended their school.

"Ugh, here comes the elephant stomping by." she muttered, as Anju passed by the two of them.

"I'm leaving~!" Anju sang to her sleeping home as she stepped out the door. Checking the latch behind her and giving her vest an extra tug downward to smooth out any insolent wrinkles which had crept up when she wasn't actively keeping watch, she hopped from the doorstep and began her morning jaunt to school. Said elephantine footsteps keeping a beat overlaid by the humming of air conditioners and telephone wires, she skipped past her neighbors, making sure to shoot them her trademark complacent smile and a singsong "O-hayo!"

The boy-man passed by, not really noticing his surroundings. Clinging to his side was a young girl, about six or seven. She was bouncing around, full of life and energy. She was wearing a cute little sailor uniform, and fiddled with the edges of her skirt every now and then.

"PERUUUUUM~! Ohayo!" called Nashi, waving to her friend as she approached.

Perum jumped, and looked at Nashi. "NASHI! Ohayo, what's up?"

Keiko opened her mouth to answer the rapid fire questions, but she was too busy holding a gasp for Kit's comment. She knew Kit despised Anju, but that was a little uncalled for, wasn't it?.... Nah, Kit knew what she was doing.


"Morning!" Keiko replied in a singsong tone. Keiko entertained he neighbor's kindness, it's not like she had to hate Anju too.... right?
